FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most — raw milk and Florida law, what our labels mean, and how same-day Miami delivery works. Don’t see yours? Reach out.

Is raw milk legal in Florida?

Yes — with an important detail. Under Florida law (Florida Statutes § 502.091), raw milk may not be sold for human consumption, so all raw dairy in Florida — ours included — is sold and labeled for pet consumption. Every raw dairy product we carry comes from local Florida farms we know personally, and we deliver it fresh the same day when you order by 2 PM. You can read more on our About Raw Milk page.

What does grass-fed and grass-finished actually mean?

Grass-fed means the animal ate grass for part of its life — but many "grass-fed" cattle are switched to grain feedlots for their final months. Grass-finished means the animal ate grass and forage its entire life, right up to harvest. All of the beef we carry is both grass-fed and grass-finished from Florida ranchers, with no antibiotics and no added hormones. Browse it in our Beef collection.

What is pasture-raised poultry, and how is it different from free-range?

Free-range only requires that birds have some access to the outdoors — in practice, that can mean a small door on a crowded barn. Pasture-raised means the birds actually live outside on grass, moved across fresh pasture. The poultry we carry is pasture-raised on local Florida farms, and our chicken and eggs are additionally raised on soy-free and corn-free feed. See Poultry and Eggs.

Where does your food come from?

We're not a farm — we're a family-run market that partners directly with local producers we know by name. Our meat and seafood come from Florida Fresh Meats & Seafood, our raw dairy comes from local Florida farms like Alday Farms and Erinwood, and our raw cheeses are crafted by Lykens Valley Creamery. Everything is vetted for how it's raised and what's in it.

How does delivery work?

We deliver across the Miami area for a flat fee based on your zip code (shown at checkout). Order in-stock items by 2 PM and your delivery arrives the same day. We're online-only — there's no store or pickup location. Details on the Delivery page.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes. On our staple products you can subscribe for delivery every week or every two weeks — same prices as a one-time purchase, no strings attached. It's simply a convenience: your regular order shows up on schedule, and you can skip a delivery or cancel anytime from your account.

How should I store raw milk, and how long does it keep?

Keep raw milk consistently refrigerated at or below 40°F, ideally toward the back of the fridge rather than in the door. Kept cold, it's typically at its best within about a week to ten days. If it sours, it hasn't gone to waste — soured raw milk is traditionally used for baking, marinades and pets.

What if something is out of stock or I need to change my order?

In-stock items ordered by 2 PM go out the same day. Some items are offered as pre-orders and are reserved for you from our next farm delivery — that's noted right on the product page. Need to change an order? Reach us through the Contact page or at johanna@ranchersmarket.co and we'll take care of it.
