How it works

  1. Reserve online

Add your quarter or half to the cart and check out like any other order. That reserves your share with the ranch.

  2. We cut, pack and freeze it

Your beef is cut to the list above, packaged by the cut and frozen at the butcher. This takes 2–4 weeks.

  3. We deliver it frozen

We reach out to pick a delivery day, then bring it to your door in Miami-Dade or the Upper Keys. Have the freezer cleared and cold.

Will it fit in my freezer?

Rule of thumb: one cubic foot holds about 25 pounds of packaged beef.

  • Quarter cow (~100 lb): 4–5 cu ft. A small chest freezer, about the footprint of a nightstand. New ones run around $200.
  • Half cow (~209 lb): 8–10 cu ft. A mid-size chest freezer, or a half split between two households.
  • Apartment or condo? The quarter is the one. Or split a half with a neighbor and each take a quarter.

Everything arrives frozen and individually packaged, so you can spread it across a kitchen freezer and a small chest freezer if you need to.

Where we deliver beef shares

Miami-Dade

Brickell to Homestead, Miami Beach to Doral. Kendall, Coral Gables, Hialeah, Little Havana, Westchester, Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay and everywhere between.

Upper Keys

Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada. Yes, we already make this drive.

Delivery is by our own drivers, frozen the whole way. The fee is set by zip code and shown at checkout. Outside these areas? Write to us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it work.

The beef

  • Grass-fed and grass-finished. Grass and forage their whole lives, never finished on grain in a feedlot.
  • Raised in Florida. From the Ocala-area farms of Florida Fresh Meats, the same beef we deliver by the steak every day.
  • No antibiotics, no added hormones. Nothing in the beef that isn't beef.
  • Cut by a real butcher. Proper steaks, proper roasts, and ground beef in one-pound packs.

Questions people ask before they buy

How much beef is it, really?

A quarter is about 100 pounds and a half is about 209 pounds of packaged beef, listed cut by cut above. Those are freezer pounds, not "hanging weight," so there's no math to do. Weights vary a little from animal to animal.

How much freezer space do I need?

About 4–5 cubic feet for a quarter and 8–10 for a half. A quarter fits in a small chest freezer, which costs around $200 new, and a lot of families keep one in a closet, laundry room or garage.

How long will it last my family?

A family of four that eats beef a few nights a week goes through a quarter in roughly 4–6 months and a half in 9–12. Frozen, vacuum-packed beef keeps its quality for a year or more.

Is it actually cheaper than buying cuts?

Yes. The share works out to about $8.13–$8.99 a pound for everything, including the ribeyes, filets and T-bones that cost $20 a pound or more on their own. Other Florida ranches sell grass-fed shares for $13–$17 a pound, and most of them make you pick up at the ranch.

When will I get it, and how does delivery work?

Plan on 2–4 weeks from your order. We message you when it's ready to pick a delivery day, then deliver it frozen to your door anywhere in Miami-Dade or the Upper Keys. The delivery fee depends on your zip code and is shown at checkout.

Can I choose my own cuts?

The share is a fixed mix, and that's what keeps the price where it is. If you want a custom lineup, our beef collection has every cut individually, delivered same day.

Can I split it with a friend?

Absolutely. Every cut is packaged separately, so a half divides cleanly into two quarters. Order the half, split the delivery, and you both get the best price per pound.

Do I pay now or later?

You pay at checkout, and that's what reserves your share. Need to change or cancel before it's cut? Email johanna@ranchersmarket.co and we'll sort it out.

Fill the freezer once. Eat well for months.
